New Pursuits!

Recently I was contacted by tour company The Traveling Divas who specialise in organised tours for small groups of professional women, all over the world. A small group of women were coming to The Southern Highlands for a 4 day weekend, and as a part of the tour they needed a cooking class. Staying at The Rift - Bowral, the weekend included tours of wineries, a visit to Edota Spa, Bowral, dinner at Biota Dining and a cooking class with yours truly!

We had the most wonderful day. Commencing with a French Terrine wrapped in Black Forrest Ham we then moved into making Bread, Sous vide Fish, Stinging Nettle Ravioli, Duck with painted Pears in Merlot, Chocolate & Raspberry Pots and a particularly wonder Citrus Cake with macerated strawberries. The class allowed everyone to be as involved as they wanted. For those happy to sip wine and observe, they said they had learnt a lot during the day also.

"Retirement" has offered many different experiences, but this one in particular has given me the most pleasure. All those years ago when we sold our business and we re-trained as "teachers" we applied for jobs and told we were too old, I can now take those teaching skills and apply them in my own Cooking School business.
