To leave your career and manage your "retirement" is for some a difficult task! BUT if you apply the organisational skills you used at work or at home to bring up a family, you might just find the navigation a little easier I found 'Project management' was helpful to set goals, and met targets.......some of my observations....
You will probably experience anxiety in the early “transition” time
You will have a varying degrees of a sense of loss of purpose, relevance and confidence
You will miss the mate-ship of co-workers
You will feel you have made a big mistake
Relax all this will pass and here are some valuable tips to help you along the way, and in a relatively short period of time you will be wondering when you ever had time for work and be looking forward to the very best time of your life.
Don’t call the office to see how things are going?
Change your look – now is the time to reinvent yourself
Shop for a new “activities” wardrobe, it is so liberating
Write a 5 year plan with the milestone at 6 & 12 months then 2, 3 and 5 years out
Join clubs and activities
Indulge the hobbies you never had time for
Volunteer in the community
Don’t be too available to family and existing friends - you will never grow!
Be fabulous in whatever you do.....
...and remember...have a fabulous retirementLIFE....
